A Really In-depth book that covers the history, politics, strategies, mentalities, people and personalities of the NW plains Indians and America's attempted fort/trail expansion into their land. Very satisfying read. Really gives great, rich context to the history. Wonderfully interesting to see how the Western Sioux temporarily repelled and won a war against manifest Destiny. Highly recommended.
