In fact the author reminded me of standing in my Wells Fargo bank here in California, in the Fresno area back in the 70's when someone behind me was pointing out a man in overalls who was being waited on, and commenting on how poor he 'looked.' Only to be told that he was one of the wealthiest ranchers, farmers in California.

The woman obviously fit the pattern that the author speaks of, when it comes to assuming that to be rich to have to be living above your means, driving a new car that is never really yours, and having credit card debt that is so bad that you use one credit card to pay the minimum on another card.

The author also reminded me of a talk Warren Buffet gave once where we found out that he and his wife (who has since died) still live in the same house they bought back in the sixties.

The bestselling The Millionaire Next Door identifies seven common traits that show up again and again among those who have accumulated wealth. Most of the truly wealthy in this country don't live in Beverly Hills or on Park Avenue-they live next door. This new edition, the first since 1998, includes a new foreword for the twenty-first century by Dr. Thomas J. Stanley.
