Toby Neal has written another wonderful adventure in the Lei Crime Series. The character development of both Lei Texeira and Michael Stephens continues as painted by a master. In this book they face fear, grief, loss, and uncertainty together and author Neal handles them with honesty and kindness. The storyline in this book is excellent and winds up a great part of a longer story arc. This may be the best in the series yet. I highly recommend.

Toby Neal's Lei Crime series just keeps getting better and better. Having read the series from the beginning, each book offers deeper character development in a realistic way, that has you caring about Lei and Stevens as if they were real people in your life. Not only are the books a crime story, but there is personal development and growth with the main character, a very human Lei, someone who has endured much in her life and successfully struggles to overcome deeply seated fears. There is loads of realistic action with enough explanation of some of the technical aspects of crime solving without making your head spin. The romance and love scenes are the kind that lets you put the pictures in your mind instead of being gratuitous in your face and graphic. I highly recommend the Lei Crime Series, and the other stand alone books Toby Neal has written. You will not be disappointed.
