My First Book Of Tracing (Kumon Workbooks)

This is the first Kumon Workbook in our series. Within, children have the opportunity to practice basic pencil-control skills. All the exercises include colorful, pleasing pictures that children will enjoy drawing. Children start by tracing straight vertical lines, and gradually move to drawing more challenging curved, zigzag, and diagonal lines. Through these exercises children will acquire the ability to use a pencil easily.

This book is perfect for pre-writing. If your child shows an interest in writing- start with this! It covers vertical, horizontal, curves, and diagonal lines. The pictures are good and the book itself is of good quality.

Tracing made me think of tracing paper over an image and tracing a drawing. However, this book is about gaining control of a pencil and connecting a path from one object to another. Some have obstacles, some are pretty straightforward. Excellent for learning how to use a pencil and making lines that will serve to write letters later Very colorful Excellent learning tools. The books have clear parent instructions and my 3 1/2 year old grandson absolutely loves them. It makes for great quality time and he looks forward to working in these books. instead of candy or ice cream, these workbooks have become his "treat".

This book has very motivating pictures and different types of tracing lines that make using a pencil fun for preschoolers! It gives them great practice with eye/hand coordination and they think its fun! My granddaughter sat down and did the whole book in one day! This was great because it has been like pulling teeth to get her to practice writing! I highly recommend this book!
