Northouse gives great descriptions of leadership through definitions, examples, and experience. This book is great for a student learning about leadership and the various types of leadership styles . Could also see a new leader using this book to define their role in an organization or school setting!

This book offers clear definitions for many leadership theories and models, the text is easy to read and offers solid discussion surrounding each principle discussed. The case studies are interesting and detailed, they are written in a way that draws clear parallels between principles and practice.

Leadership Theory and Practice is a valuable text. This sixth edition is helpful since it includes new case studies that deal with business in the internet world. The organization of the book, the detail, and the presentation is useful for students beginning to understand the world of leadership. The cases bring to life the theory in both its form and practice. I recommend it.
