This book is not like most books. Often it seems textbooks are written as an exercise of mental masturbation to make the author feel important. This book was written with the goal of transferring knowlege in the most clear, painless way possible. Teaching is an art and this guy gets it. He answers frequently asked questions, uses brilliant analogies to help readers intuitively grasp how things work and introduces things in stages. This isn't as math heavy as most college engineering books but isn't fluff either.

If you know very little about electricity now and read this book, you will have a foundation of knowledge to design some rather complex circuits. You will know the basics needed to continue teaching yourself. Quite honestly, this book was more useful than my first few semesters of electrical engineering education combined.
